When Gabriel ABDEL NOUR sings, a shiver shakes us.
As a young child, he had tendencies towards music and singing. His potential, greeted and recognized by his entourage, led him in the beginning to follow courses of piano and musical theory, to work on and develop his singing talent with professional American and French tenors (for 10 years) -and later on- with Masters of the oriental song, taking his sublime and gracious voice to another level.
GABRIEL ABDEL NOUR is a tenor. His voice is clear and ranges over 3 octaves: from Ré2 until Fa5, exceeding the expectations one would normally have.
Gabriel's voice is not the only gift he has been blessed with; he adds detail, smoothness to the song, interprets sentiment in every word of his lyrics.
Singing is the most important aspect of Gabriel's life, for on stage he expresses himself with innate honesty, and shares with the audience the essence of his soul.
Gabriel has an M.A in Psychology from the Holy Spirit University, Lebanon. He has graduated with honors.
During 1999 to 2002 Gabriel has performed in many official concerts singing internationally renowned songs from some of the legends of international contemporary music like EDITH PIAF, TINO ROSSI, LEO FERRE, GILBERT BECAULT, CHARLES AZNAVOUR, YVES MONTAND, SERGE LAMA, DALIDA...
He has sung in 9 different languages, and has earned several high awards.
Listening to him is an artistic pleasure. His performances evoke the best of humanity, celebrating love, the fatherland, fraternity, peace, and the respect of the human rights.
In 2003 Gabriel paid tribute to Lebanese poetry, singing 7 original songs written by the virtuoso Lebanese poet Gibran Khalil Gibran.
The songs were: "Lakoom Loubnanookom", "Nahnoo wa Antom", "Iqtaribi Minni", "Bel Amsi wal Yawm", "Ayna Anti", "Daani ya La'imi" "Salamon Ayyatouhal Hayat", composed by Elie Choueiry, Joseph Khalife, and himself.
For his songs, Gabriel has also garnered from the poetic gardens of Al HALLAJ, GEORGE CHACCOUR, ELIAS ABI RAAD, FADI Al RAHI and YASSER LABAKI...Composed by JOSEPH KHALIFE, JAHIDA WEHBE, YASSER LABAKI and himself.
The style of music differs from one song to the other. One finds echoes of tango and other musical styles in his inspiring and innovative songs.
Most Lebanese magazines have written about Gabriel and his performances, highlighting the messages he conveys in his music.
Many renowned artists of Lebanon complimented him on his voice, presence, and professionalism during concerts.
