Glen Jacobs was trained by Ray Candy and Dean Malenko. He made his pro debut in either 1993 or 1994. The early part of his career was marred by horrible gimmicks including the Christmas Creature (a wrestling Christmas tree), Dr. Isaac Yankem DDS, and Fake Diesel. Despite rumors and story lines, he is not related to the Undertaker or Paul Bearer, never married Lita, knew a Katie Vick, and only Glen Jacobs played the part of Kane.
After several months of threatening the Undertaker about a dark secret, Paul Bearer let the world know that Undertaker killed his family in a fire but his brother was still alive. At the first Hell in a Cell match, Kane made his debut by costing Undertaker a match with Shawn Michaels. Undertaker refused to fight Kane until he was burnt alive in a coffin at Royal Rumble 98. Kane and Taker fought for the first time at Wrestlemania 14. Prior to this match, Kane attacked Pete Rose for the first of 3 consecutive WrestleMania attacks on Pete. The Kane vs. Undertaker feud has been on-and-off.
Sometimes the Undertaker is the bad guy and sometimes Kane was the bad guy. They seem to turn on one another and become friends again on a regular basis. Details of his physical and mental healing have never been revealed.
In late 2002, Triple H revealed that Kane murdered his ex-girlfriend Katie Vick. A few months later, Triple H beat Kane in a match where he had to unmask. Kane went insane and started to set people on fire and even beat up Linda McMahon. Her son, Shane, came to her rescue in one of the worst written feuds ever. Lowlights included Shane getting a car battery attached to his testicles and Kane falling into a burning dumpster and being unmarked the next week. Lita slept with Kane to keep him from beating up her boyfriend Matt Hardy. He wound up getting her pregnant and won her hand in marriage by beating Matt. A few weeks later, Gene Snitsky caused Lita to have a miscarriage. This event seemed to bring them closer together, but Lita wound up being with Edge when details of their real-life relationship caused Matt Hardy to be fired. These giants were brought together by a Taboo Tuesday vote. That night they won the tag team titles. Combined, they are almost 14 feet tall and weigh close to 1,000 pounds. The tag team broke up because Kane went insane when he heard the words May 19, which is the release date of his first movie, See No Evil. That movie, while not a critical success, has proven to be a commercial success.
August 2003, Kane still continues to be without the mask that he was known for wearing throughout his career. Since his unmasking, he has attacked numerous people for no reason (Rob Van Dam, Jim Ross, Linda McMahon) and because of this, he has been placed under house arrest. However, he can still report to RAW every week to compete, but he has been placed in shackles and escorted down to the ring by security personnel. Since SummerSlam, he tried to finally hunt down Shane McMahon for the threats Shane imposed to him. Kane set Shane up for an unbelievably shocking "inferno dumpster deathtrap" but Shane kicked him into the dumpster and we are still wondering how Kane faired from that supposed scorching.
In March 2004, at WrestleMania XX, he will face his "brother," the Undertaker in an interpromotional match.
August 2004, beat Matt Hardy in a 'Till Death Do Us Part' match when he chokeslammed Matt who was on the second rope. Now Kane can "marry" the mother of his "child", Lita. March 2004, he losts to the Undertaker at WrestleMania XX when the Undertaker hit Kane with the Tombstone Piledriver.
August 2004, he married Lita on the August 23rd episode of RAW.
September 2004, he sets to face Shawn Michaels, the man who Kane put on the shelf back in June (story wise), at WWE Unforgiven.
October 2004, feuding with Gene Snitsky, after Snitsky hit Kane with a chair that caused him to knock over his "wife" Lita, thus losing their "baby. He also put on the shelf at Taboo Tuesday by Gene Snitzky by the same method he used to eliminate Shawn Michaels a month previous (folding a steel chair over his throat and jumping on it) The real reason is that Glenn Jacobs is filming a horror movie for a couple of months.
In December 2004, he filmed "The GoodNight Man," a thriller/horror movie.
In January 2005, he returned to Raw in between the dates of December 27th and January 4th, continuing his feud with Gene Snitzky, who "accidentally" broke his neck and gave him a leave (which was really a leave from the ring to film his movie "The GoodNight Man.")This was announced on December 13th, by Kane's "wife", Lita.
In March 2007, he moved to Smackdown teaming up with his 'brother' the Undertaker as The Brothers Of Destruction.(B.O.D.). On April 2007, he losts to The Great Khali at Wrestlemania 23.
March 2008, he won the Battle Royal at Wrestlemania 24 and went on to win the ECW World Championship title that same night.
