Walid Al Juffali is a scion of the EA Juffali & Brothers company, and his family is one of Saudi’s largest and wealthiest. Co-founded in 1946 by his father, the company began as a contractor building electric power utilities but today operates in all sectors of Saudi business, with big-name partners such as Dow Chemical and Siemens. Walid broke off and started his own businesses in the 1990s.
His companies include Saudi Cement Company, which during the oil-fired growth of the last few years provided the lion’s share of cement in Saudi’s real estate and construction boom. He retains close contacts with the government of Saudi Arabia, and is in charge of numerous public construction projects
