Lubna S. Olayan, the chief executive officer of the Olayan Financing Company (OFC), the holding entity for the Olayan Group's operations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. Founded in 1947 by Suliman S. Olayan, The Olayan Group is a private multinational enterprise engaged in distribution, manufacturing, services and investments.
Olayan obtained a BSc in agriculture from Cornell University and an MBA from Indiana University.
She served on the Board of Chelsfield, the UK property developer, from 1996 to 2004. In 2004, she was elected to the Board of Saudi Hollandi Bank, becoming the first woman to join the board of a Saudi listed company. Olayan was appointed as a non executive director to the Board of WPP in 2005. In 2006 she joined the International Advisory Board of Rolls-Rolls.
She Named by Fortune magazine as one of the 50 Most Powerful Women: International Power 50in 2005. Olayan is the recipient of numerous business achievement awards and is an outspoken advocate of progressive business practices in the Middle East.
